Museum of Newport History at the Brick Market at 127 Thames Street

From fetes to battles, explore Newport’s Old Quarter and hear stories about George Washington’s many connections to Newport. Presented by a guide wearing authentic historical clothing. The 1852 Gothic Revival style building is home to R.I.’s oldest Catholic parish and boasts beautiful Austrian-made stained glass windows.

2pm: Rum & Revolution Tour with Rum Tasting
From the thriving colonial rum trade through the temperance movement and Prohibition era smuggling, learn about the changing role of alcohol in the community. This tour ends at Stoneacre Brasserie where a historic drink will be served. *Participants must be 21 or older.

This hour long tour is presented by a guide wearing authentic historical clothing. Optional: purchase a rum ration cup that's a reproduction of the copper mug used by the Royal Navy in the 18th century.


Tickets cost $40 per person or $55 for the combo tour ticket and rum cup; $35 for Newport Historical
Society members and active duty military or $50 with the tour ticket rum cup; with the Winter Festival
bracelet, it’s $37 per person or $52 for the tour ticket and rum cup.

6pm to 8:30pm Presidential Cocktail Party

The Safari Room at Oceancliff- sponsored by Litchfield Distillery and Newport Live Events

To compliment the three historically accurate cocktails. Recipes of all the drinks will also be provided to our guests. A La Carte menu will be available for food. Tickets are be available through OpenTable
