Hear stories of revolution and ruin, struggles for religious liberty and remarkable entrepreneurship among Newport’s diverse people. Visit Historic Fort Adams, America’s most complex coastal fortification. Guided tours take you to the top of the Forts ramparts for a spectacular view of Newport Harbor, then deep beneath the walls into the underground listening tunnels.

Rose Island- Meeting at Newport Shipyard

Have exclusive access to Rose Island during this behind the scenes tour of Rose Island Lighthouse, Fort Hamilton and the wildlife preserve. Start your journey off in Starfish, a 32' Lobster boat captained by Brian Tefft, the Executive Director for a unique harbor tour on the way to Rose Island. Once on Rose Island your guided tour will include the lighthouse, Fort Hamilton barracks, and recent historic discoveries not shared with the public before. Sip hot chocolate and enjoy Grandma Curtis' sugar cookies on the way back to Newport Shipyard.
